Activity 8.3 Preparing for a Family-Teacher Conference

Progress made in the following areas: Undrestanding that there are rules when playing games; coloring within the lines; and Identifying most letters and numbers.

The activity the child enjoys the most: Jumping rope; drawing; dress up fantasy play; computer time.

The child is most excited and attentive when it is time for outside play; kicking the ball; playing in the sand box. Also when elected to be class line leader.

The best form of redirection for this child is when given choices to allow take a walk around or breathing deep. Asking if insted would like to do a puzzle which he always loves to do.

One objective the family could work on at home is offer options that might suggest more that one task to choose from. Copy triangles and other geometric patterns.

Journal entry 11

Reaching parents who are visual would be by a terrific handbook, uncomplicated and easy to read. Be informative; day sheets; accident reports; newsletters and incident reports. Parents who are Auditory primary contact with parents; parent communication; create a professional relationship to create prior to issues that may arise or events that may be upcoming. parents who are Kiniesthic are more likely to need good provided materials; consistent messages; choose the wright vehicle to deliver your message and not assuming they already know the needed information.
