Journal entry 10

Health Alert: November 2012

RINGWORM: is a contagious disease caused by a fungus.
Ringworm is usually round. It has a slight raised outer edge and a pink center. It may occur on the scalp or any part of the body. It is usually itchy.
A child in our center was treated by a doctor and has begun treatment, there is usually no need to exclude the child, although you may need to cover areas infected with light dressing. Ringworm is spread by direct or indirect contact with infected skin or hair of children our staff isolated the child as far as we know no one was directly exposed, but that might not be the case.

Thank you if you have any questions please feel free to call 777-7777 or email happyfeet@yahoo.com. Thank you Center Director Louise McCowan.
